Five doors, four seats.370Nm instant Torgue ,160Km/h: a real car for everyday driving .

Find out more about the Opel Ampera and its production launch in 2011

Benefits

Saving & Winning
Extended Range Electric Vehicles ( E-REV) deliver reduced oil consumption ,support energy diversification, and reduce emissions. That said ,the Opel Ampera is well-suited to the needs of most European drivers, the majority of which commute less than 50 Km from home to work and back.

With its Voltec propulsion system the Opel Ampera can Drive 60 Km on electricity alone ,with zero emissions. And recharging is easy : the Ampera can be plugged into any house 230 v outlet

How far Can you Go ?

Clear Answer : 60 Km an battery and more than 500Km extended range with the 1.4 Liter (82Hp) gasoline –fueled engine –generator provides electricity to power the electric drive unit while simultaneously sustaining the charge of the battery .

Watch the animations to see how far you could drive starting from Geneva ,site of Opel
Ampera’s 2009 world Premiere

What’s the Cost

We estimate that an extended range electric car will save about 1,700 liters of gasoline per year based on 60 Km of daily driving ( 22,000 km per year ) .As a baseline comparison : 0.09 Euro per Km using gasoline priced at 1.16 Euro per liter.

In other words ,the cost of an electrically driven kilometer in the Opel Ampera is about a fifth of the cost of a kilometer driven in a conventional gasoline vehicle,at current fuel price .

In range –extended mode the Ampera consumes only 1.61/100 Km and emits less than 40g/km of CO2.

CITROËN C3 Pluriel attracts attention

INTRODUCTION

CITROËN’s C3 Pluriel really does embody the words fun, fresh and functional. It’s five cars in one - a 3-door saloon, a Panoramic Saloon, a Cabriolet, a Spider and a Spider Pick up. And as well as looking great, the CITROËN C3 Pluriel drives brilliantly and is packed with an unrivalled level of equipment, safety features, technology and storage.

The CITROËN C3 Pluriel combines the practicality of a supermini with the excitement of a convertible. It’s a deceptively spacious 4 seater (in fact, it’s one of the roomiest in its class), and the secret of its versatile appearance is in the roof design, which features an electric full-length retractable roof and removable roof arches. It looks stylish too, and draws attention wherever it goes.

Safety is paramount in the CITROËN C3 Pluriel. All models feature anti-lock braking (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and Emergency Braking Assistance. You can find out more about these in the Technology section. Four airbags, 3-point inertia reel seatbelts, a specially stiffened body shell, reinforced windscreen pillars and roof arches, plus strengthened seat backs and head rests all add to the sense of safety and stability. It’s no surprise it has a four-star EuroNCAP rating.

A car as unique and inspiring as the CITROËN C3 Pluriel also has some unique and inspiring accessories - each designed specifically to enhance or personalise your CITROËN C3 Pluriel, or add to its convenience, storage and safety features. For example, there’s a rain cover to protect the CITROËN C3 Pluriel from sudden downpours when it’s parked. Or the roof arch storage stand. Or the contoured mudflaps that reduce the effects of road spray and prevent paintwork damage, and the Tom Tom sat-nav to get you to your destination.

There’s a choice of three engines - and each blends performance and economy in the city, or the open road. There’s the 1.4i petrol and 1.4HDi diesel engines, plus the 1.6i 16V engine with SensoDrive paddleshift five-speed sequential gearbox - for those who prefer instant fingertip gear changing.

The CITROËN C3 Pluriel - open to anything as long as it’s fun.

EXTERIOR

The CITROËN C3 Pluriel attracts attention wherever it goes. And it’s no surprise with its distinctive styling featuring body colour bumpers and skirts, and when it’s guaranteed to look good, roof arches that contrast with the exterior body colour. But the CITROËN C3 Pluriel really turns heads when it’s in one of its five different body configurations - you just need to check the weather and decide which one you prefer today.

Techno style headlamps and rear lights add to the fun, contemporary look and to make your CITROËN C3 Pluriel even more eye-catching, the ‘Elegance Pack’ on selected models takes the style dial even higher, featuring aluminium bumper inserts, rubbing strips and door handles.

There’s a great choice of attractive paint colours and finishes for your CITROËN C3 Pluriel, including pearlescent or metallic paint options. Plus, your exterior choice of colour is reflected in the interior to create a contemporary look and feel.

INTERIOR

Inside, the CITROËN C3 Pluriel is about comfort, style and modern chic. It has variable power-assisted steering, height and tilt adjustable leather steering wheel for the optimum driving position, aluminium effect front vents, electric windows front and rear, electric door mirrors, and a 6-speaker CD player.

Creating space is no problem either. Simply fold the rear seats down and you have an extensive, completely flat floor from the back of the front seats to a downward opening tailgate that makes loading easy.

Whichever colour exterior you choose, there’s a perfectly co-ordinated and upholstered interior, and all models feature body-colour inserts on the front doors and rear panels to further enhance the CITROËN C3 Pluriel’s individuality.

DRIVE

The CITROËN C3 Pluriel is fun to look at and fun to drive. Its long wheel-base, wide tyres and reinforced body shell ensures it handles responsively whatever the road conditions. The digital display provides all the driver information you need clearly, while unnecessary glare can be minimised when driving at night by selecting the ‘black panel’ instrument lighting. The elevated front seats and windscreen provide excellent visibility of the road ahead. And a programmable, audible ‘over speed’ warning helps you keep your speed in check.

And with its range of active and passive safety features, such as hazard lights that automatically activate when you brake sharply, front and lateral airbags, ABS, Emergency Braking Assistance (EBA) you can feel safe and secure however demanding the roads are.

PERFORMANCE

On the open road or in the inner city, the CITROËN C3 Pluriel’s range of engines balance performance with fuel economy. Choose one of two petrol engines or the popular diesel option. The CITROËN C3 Pluriel 1.4i offers an attractive combination of performance and economy.

Raise the bar with the dynamic 1.6i 16v SensoDrive engine and experience the power of 110hp and the fingertip paddle-shift gear changes from a five-speed sequential gearbox. And if you want to keep running costs as low as possible, the CITROËN C3 Pluriel 1.4HDi diesel offers great driving pleasure and an impressive 60.1 mpg on the combined cycle.

Free Auto Insurance Quotes Online

More and more people are discovering the benefits of shopping online. Here's how to get free auto insurance quotes online and get cheap rates quickly and easily.

Where can I get free auto insurance quotes online?

There are a ton of websites that will give you free auto insurance quotes online. The bigger sites are operated by the larger companies and only give you their quotes. But because rates can vary by $1,000 or more from one company to the next, you need to go to a site that will give you quotes from a number of auto insurance companies.

Not only can you get multiple rate quotes from these sites, the better sites also have an articles section where you can get auto insurance tips, and a chat section where you can talk with an insurance expert online and get answers to your questions (see link below).

What auto insurance discounts can I get?

When you fill out the online questionnaire for an insurance comparison site you'll be asked what discounts you want. Here's a list of the discounts that will save you the most money:

1. Increase your deductible - Depending on how high you raise it this can save you 30% to 50% on your auto insurance premium.

2. Combine your insurance - Placing your auto and homeowners insurance with the same company will save you up to 15% on your premium.

3. Install security devices - Outfitting your car with a burglar alarm or other theft-prevention device can get you a good-sized discount.

4. Eliminate unneeded coverage - You may want to eliminate your comprehensive and collision coverage if your car is more than five years old, or if the cost of your annual premium is the same as the value of your car.

Bottom Line

It only takes a few minutes to get a free auto insurance quote online and you could save $500 to $1,000 every year you own your car. So why not head over to an insurance comparison site right now and find out how much you can save.

Top 7 Reasons To Sell Your Car Online FREE

In this article, Mr Sampson Cooper of the used car sales website UKAutoSearch reviews the problems car sellers face when advertising their cars in traditional print media, and highlights the real advantages that sellers experience when advertising their cars free of charge on the Internet.

So, you want to sell your car?

> Maybe you are buying a new car

> Perhaps you are getting a company car

> Has your family outgrown your present car?

Whatever the reason for your wanting to sell your car, car sellers agree that selling a car can be a very stressful experience. The commonest concerns sellers have are:

1. "Will I get a good price for my car?" (i.e. will a buyer haggle hard and pressurise me into letting the car go for a low price?)

and

2. "How long will it take to find a buyer for my car?" (i.e. if I hold out for the price I want, will I be left without a buyer?)

The traditional option is to take out an advert in the weekly Autotrader magazine. For about £35, you get a 2-week advert which allows you to include one small photo of your car, and about 200 characters of free text.

If you submit your advert before the Monday deadline, it will appear in that week's edition which comes out either on Thursday or Friday morning. There are a number of regional editions, and you can choose which regional edition you want your advert to appear in.

Problems with advertising in Autotrader

Advertising in the print media sounds like a reasonable idea until you experience first-hand the crippling limitations of this proposition. Remember, the concept of advertising cars in print media has been around since the 1970's, and is certainly showing it's age:

1. Because you get only a limited number of words, you have to cram as much information about your car into the smallest number of words.

> This has given rise to a whole specialist lingo, with terms like "r/c/l" (remote central locking) coming into existence for no reason other than to save space in an Autotrader advert!

2. You get only one photo, so you have to try to convey an impression about your car in one image.

> Imagine you were going to buy something worth thousands of pounds - would you be impressed and satisfied with just one photo?

3. Because you know that your advert will run for only 2 weeks, you may be indirectly pressurised into accepting a lower price for your car than what you expected.

> Suppose someone turns up to see your car on the last day of the 2 week period and offers you £500 less than your asking price... would you accept it for a quick sell or would you hold out for the price you think your car deserves, and be prepared to re-advertise for another 2 weeks?

Faced with the uncertainties and stress of traditional print-based car advertising, car sellers in the USA, UK and Europe have been turning to the Internet to find a more relaxed and productive way of selling their cars.

Top 7 reasons to advertise your car online

Advertising your car on the Internet has some unique advantages compared with traditional print advertising.

Our customers have consistently identified the following 7 features of online advertising which they say have made the difference between getting the price they want for their cars, and having to compromise for a lower price:

1. It is usually significantly cheaper to advertise your car on a website.

> Disk space and bandwidth are cheaper than paper, ink and magazine distribution, and tremendous savings are made by not having to print and distribute a magazine. These savings can be passed on directly to the seller.

> Car adverts at UKAutoSearch.com are FREE until sold, compared to the £35+ cost of a 2-week Autotrader advert.

> UKAutoSearch.com is entirely supported by corporate advertising, and does not charge sellers for the service.

2. Online adverts can include a lot more information about your car than adverts in magazines.

> Car adverts at UKAutoSearch.com can have 10,000 characters (2000 words) of free text description, compared to approximately 200 characters in an Autotrader advert.

3. Online sellers can include multiple photos of their cars.

> Every FREE UKAutoSearch.com advert can have 10 photos of your car. For just £12.99, our sister site UKCarSeller.com allows 25 photos in each advert. Photos can be upto 1Mb in size.

4. Sellers can update / modify adverts at any time, even when the adverts are "live".

5. Anyone in the world with an Internet connection can view your advert.

> This means that people further afield who may still be interested in your car will be able to view its specifications online, without your having to spend more money on adverts in magazines serving neighbouring regions. The end result is that more buyers compete for your car.

> Car adverts at UKAutoSearch.com are also advertised on Google and othe r search engines, increasing the number of people who can see your car online.

6. Your car advert will be online and active immediately - the turnaround time between submitting your advert and it being active is typically a lot shorter than in print media.

7. Some websites such as UKAutoSearch.com and UKCarSeller.com will actively advertise your car until it is sold. So you do not have to accept the first offer you get.

Sell your car online FREE, today

To advertise your car for sale today, simply register at UKAutoSearch.com . Remember, it costs nothing at all to advertise online, so you have nothing to lose!

The best car in the World Today JAGUAR XF

It takes a car of great ability to distinguish
itself against the competition. To win an
award of the magnitude of the What
Car? Car of The Year 2008 (and
What Car?’s Executive Car of the
Year too), is considered a landmark
achievement; following up these two awards with
a further ten suggests that the new Jaguar XF is a
car to be reckoned with.
The new Jaguar XF is the first saloon-based
expression of Jaguar´s new ‘sporting luxury’ design
language. This new approach aims to blend
the refinement, features and space of a luxury
saloon with sports car styling and performance.
The results are nothing short of spectacular,
as recognised by Autocar, the UK’s top car
enthusiast’s magazine: the new XF picked up the
Autocar Design Award 2007.
But the car’s liquid, coupé-like lines needn’t
cast doubt on the car’s practicality, because
the XF magically provides comfortable space for
five adults, plus a big boot and generous interior
stowage. Top Gear Magazine dubbed it their ‘Limo
of the Year’ for its comfort, space and interior style.
And what an interior. Car Magazine’s ‘Interior of
the Year’ Award recognised the luxurious, stylish
qualities of the XF’s cabin. The world’s press
has praised features like the rotating air vents,
sophisticated interior lighting, and JaguarDrive
Selector™ control that rises genie-like from a
beautifully-fashioned centre console.
The static XF experience is rich enough, but move
out onto the road and things get even better.
Thanks to the best torsional stiffness in its class –
mated to a range of four brilliant engines – The
Sun’s Ken Gibson picked the XF as his Car of
the Year, while What Car? considers the XF ‘The
Most Exciting Car of 2007’.
Those engines range from an astonishingly refined
2.7-litre V6 turbodiesel – which earned the What
Diesel? ‘Diesel Car of the Year’ Award for the XF
– to a supercharged 4.2-litre V8. What Car? was
equally impressed: ‘Soothing and quiet, agile
and athletic… XF beats the best that Germany
and Japan can offer.’
The final say must go to What Car?’s Group Editor,
Steve Fowler: `The XF goes straight in there with
the very best cars from Jaguar`s past,’ he said.
‘And, given that the car market today is more
competitive than it`s ever been, it`s fair to say
the XF is the best car Jaguar has ever built.’
